March 10th, 2012 Auction Benefit Frequently Asked Questions:
Q:Why the Mid County Senior Center?
A: The proximity to the school allows convenient childcare. Furthermore, this venue allows for the maximum amount of profits to be returned to the school.
Q: Are credit cards accepted at the auction?
A: Yes. But we encourage you to pay by cash or check as more money goes back to the school. When you pay with a credit card a small percentage goes to the banks. Additionally, check out has always been faster for those paying with a check or cash for auction items.
Q: What is included in the $20 ticket price?
A: Admission and Dinner. We will have a buffet taco bar at the auction.
Q: Does the Soquel Home and School Club make money off the ticket price?
A: No. The ticket price only covers the cost of food and use of the facility. We make money when you purchase donated auction items or buy raffle tickets. But we highly encourage your attendance even with a limited budget. This event is about more than making money. It’s about making connections and building a community.
Q: Will there be beverages for sale?
A: Yes. We will have a variety of items available for purchase. All profits go back to the school.
Q: Can I invite other guests?
A: Yes! We highly encourage grandparents, neighbors, and friends of the community to attend.
Q: Do I need to be present at the auction to win raffle items?
A: No. This is a wonderful way to support the auction if you cannot attend. We also encourage you to sell raffle tickets to neighbors, co-workers, and family members. We will contact raffle winners not present within one week of the auction.
Q: What is the dress code?
A: The theme of our lovely event is the Love Boat. So there are lots of options but the official sound bite will be ‘”resort casual”. We welcome creative outfits that would make Captain Stubing proud to have you as a guest as his table.
Q: What if I cannot attend the auction, are there other ways to support it?
A: Yes. You can purchase raffle tickets, make a donation, or buy a ticket for a staff member. Additionally, you have the option to bid at the auction preview in the M.U. room March 6th through 9th. And there will several ‘buy it now’ items in the available for those unable to attend.
